Given the engine transition to C++, how well do we think it'll run on Linux/Proton? I'm hoping for a solid 60fps on medium settings. Thoughts?
I'd settle for 40fps stable on the Deck tbh. It's a handheld, after all. Native C++ should definitely help the CPU overhead.
C++ means native support is much more likely. Even if not, Valve's Proton team usually jumps on big releases like this fast.
Bringing this back to the shooter conversation—if people are making CoD servers, the Deck controls are gonna need serious aim assist. Trying to aim a bow with the trackpads is okay, but tracking a player strafing with an SMG is gonna be a nightmare on Linux/Proton if the input lag isn't zero. Hoping the devs add native controller support with aim slowdown.
