I'm following the documentation but my inventory icons keep showing up as purple/black squares. I've checked the file path three times. Is there a specific compression format Hytale prefers for .png files?

Make sure you aren't using 16-bit color depth. Hytale usually wants 32-bit (RGBA) to handle the transparency properly.
